Lost: The Videogame - based on the smash-hit TV series - is to be developed and published by Ubisoft, with their Montreal Studio – the team behind Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell and, more recently, E3 show-stopper, Assassin’s Creed - picking up development duties.
Pascal Bonnet, Ubisoft’s director of licensing, told Variety magazine: “Our experience with CSI opened our eyes to the potential of games based on TV shows. Sales of games based on movies tend to peak for the three months around the film’s release, but a game based on a TV show can sell for up to six months and you’re not committed to coming out by the theatrical release.”
Bruce Gersh, senior vice president for ABC/Touchstone, said, "We are excited to work together with Ubisoft to create a gaming experience that will allow fans to further immerse themselves into the mysteries and intrigues of the series."
Details on how the actual game will work, and how it will integrate with the TV series, are thin on the ground, but SPOnG will be keeping its beady eye on this one, so we’ll let you know more as soon as we can. We expect and hope that the game will make use of downloadable ‘episodic content’ in a new and innovative way, and not merely be just another popular TV license cash in. The game will launch across all formats in 2007.

A feel a much more deserving show for a game would be something like the superb Prison Break, a show that's briliantly written and deserves more recognition (check it out on Channel 5). Its gripping stuff worthy of your time, in some cases more than Lost if not as much.
Besides few games actually have you play a prisoner secretly trying to break out while living the jail bird life. It would be cool.
Can't wait for the series one Prison Break DVD boxset that come August. Bring on series two.

I too love Lost but I have a game called Lost In Blue on my DS which plugs that gap somewhat. A ost gae might be good but how far can you go with it, I don't know.A feel a much more deserving show for a game would be something like the superb Prison Break, a show that's briliantly written and deserves more recognition (check it out on Channel 5).
