PlayStation Square - lifestyle accessories shop opens

We're told that the PlayStation Signature range includes fake crocodile-skin pouches for the PSP and Sony UMDs, tote bags, ballpoint pen sets, corkscrews and an outrageously overpriced crew-neck sweater that sells for ¥15,000 (70 quid!)
SCEI has an actual shop called Playstation Square in Tokyo's swanky Aoyama district, where lifestyle shoppers will be able to get their mitts on all of this gear when it opens on June 14th.
A wine glass, for christ’s sake? SPOnG gives it six months - your bets in the forum below.

You know, I think Sony's gonna be making a bigger loss on crap like this than they ever will with the PS3.

well, it would probably be hard for them to loose money on this kind of stuff because it probably took a pinny for some chinese kid to make, not to mention that a lot of people in Japan LOVE playstation. Not to mention, ive seen some of nintendos little things that sell over their and i still have know idea how.

Fool! This is what they're for! To make up for all the money they won't be making on PS3!

No. SPOnG doesn't give it six months, that one writer gives it six months. Personally, I don't give him that long.
1. A lot of people in Japan love PlayStation.
2. A lot of people everywhere love Crap.
3. This writer might not spend more than $20 per item of clothing. But plenty of us think £70 for a sweater is perfectly acceptable.

I am quite confident that Adam's Barleywear outfits cost more than £10.62 per item!
As to whether it'll work as a concept, it probably will. The Japanese have massive levels of disposable income and they dispose of it buying lots of cool junk. And this does seem to fit the cool junk remit.

Most of my clothes cost less, on average, than £70 per jumper/sweater and more than £10 per jumper/sweater.
None were made from Barley. Most are cotton or wool or man-made fibre or a mix of the three.
