Yay! Its Tuesday, so it’s time for the weekly charts rundown, and while the Internet GTA tricksters keep trying to claim their photoshopped ‘screenshots’ as exclusive GTA IV first screens, it’s good to see that the latest in the actual, real series – GTA: Liberty City Stories - hangs onto the number one slot for the third consecutive week in the All Formats chart as rendered by ChartTrack.

Following closely behind, and about to jump on GTA’s head, is the DS classic and essential summer handheld game New Super Mario Bros, which holds onto the number two slot for the second week running. If you are the proud new owner of a DS Lite, then you will no doubt have been enjoying NSMB as much as we are at SPOnG.

Activision’s movie tie-in, Over The Hedge, leaps up the chart to number three, boosted by the cinema release plus some hardcore marketing effort.

Interest in football continues to tail off a bit this week, with 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany down one place to number four and Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (Platinum) down to six. Eidos Interactive’s Championship Manager has a reasonably good week mind, still dallying around the top 20, up two places this week to number fourteen. And now that we (England) have forgotten our World Cup shame, we can finally start thinking about proper football again as the new domestic season kicks off early next month.

Back up to the top ten, it’s another healthy week for Nintendo, with Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training hanging in there, only falling one place to number five this week. Eidos Interactive’s big pairing of Tomb Raider Legend and Hitman: Blood Money also feature, the former slipping one place down to number seven, the latter holding firm at number nine.

Two new releases crash straight into the top ten this week with handheld versions of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest in at number eight, and Sega’s 360-exclusive mech-tastic Chromehounds clanging in at number ten - a real treat for fans of online metal-on-metal action.
