Nintendo Heartbreak From Japan. FFIII Lite

Limited patience for Square Edition.

12 Jul 2006

Even if you know for sure that you're going to be kicked in the pod, no amount of preparation can save you from the gruelling agony of the ultimate physical blow. This rubbish analogy leads us to today's crushing news, namely the stunning limited edition DS Lite Nintendo has just revealed for the upcoming Final Fantasy III.

The image to the right, courtesy of our friends at Impress Game Watch shows exactly what you'll be missing: a stunning ceramic white Lite emblazoned with character art from Akihiko Yoshida taken directly from the never-before released (in the west) third game in the RPG saga.

The system will be bundled with Final Fantasy III and released in strictly limited numbers. We hear it's 10,000, though this is unconfirmed at time of going to press. What is confirmed is that it'll cost 22,780 Yen for the bundle and will be on eBay at three times that amount by the afternoon of August 24.

Like you, we'll keep our 'everythings' crossed for a western release...

5,980 Yen? Are you sure? That's about 30 quid.

Edit:

OK, a quick jaunt over to the website (and a pass through BabelFish) reveals that the special edition DS is going for 22,780 Yen - about £110 - and the GAME is going for 5,980 Yen.

Incidentally, the article mentions that the price of the DS (with the game included) comes to about the same price as buying a normal DS and a copy of the game.
