Kutaragi to Keynote TGS. PlayStation 3 Wow-Factor Expected
Last chance to win pre-release sceptics...

Kutaragi's presentation will be titled, "Next Generation Entertainment Made by the PS3" and will no doubt be the big news of TGS 2006, whether it go well, or not so well.
The show, due to take place between the 22nd and 24th of September, is seen by many as representing Sony's last chance to win over the sceptics its PlayStation 3 push to date has so easily attracted. The PS3 has been caught in a constant shitstorm of some kind or another, be it price, performance, basic design, controller and the machine has been deprived of some of the more positive attention it arguably deserves.
It's also worthy of note that given the magnitude of recent Iwata TGS keynotes, a great deal is expected from Kutaragi. Final global pricing, release allocations and dates, launch line-up and more should be on offer.
The Sony man will be joined in the latter part of his time on stage by Square-Enix president Yoichi Wada, who will be assuming his secret identity of Computer Entertainment Software Association (CESA) chairman, discussing "The Game Industry's Potential and Problems".
We'll bring you full coverage as it happens. Stay tuned.

Well a WOW factor is certianly what they need and TGS would be excellent timing.

Right, Ken, pay attention, things we do not want you to say at TGS you're possible going to say anyway.
1) The PS3 really really is a bargain. Between a new media-format nobody asked for or is wanting only for the sake of back-ups and being to frikkin high priced as a gameconsole...just don't say it!
2) We (being gamers, publishers, developers and retailers) should be happy Sony is releasing a New Playstation at all!
3) Europe gets the PS3 somewhere in 2007... the dreaded words for all of us (except the yanks who visit these boards), if he says them, heads will roll, French Revolution style!
4) How innovative and new the gameexperciences will be on the PS3...sorry played with the Wii, i cannot believe that classic controllers can provide any kind of innovation in no fashion no more.
5) That the PS3 is better then Pie...hell no, nothing beats Pie!!!

Has anyone been to the TGS web site?
If you have you might have seen that Nintendo is not in the keynote address and not displaying there names as in a booth for show.
Id say they have the popularity for another ready for it
SPACE WORLD this year....heh
they need some sort of event to announce the official prices for the Wii hardware ,its games, peripheral, and such.

There are rumblings that Nintendo will reveal all the stuff about the Wii by at least September. Since the TGS is in September, being that they're making no appearance it's likely they're either:
1. Preparing another event purely for the Wii,
2. Deciding to leave it as a simple public statement on the details and let the hype ride its course.
Of course, the second option would be a little silly, because if Sony don't actually manage to bodge this keynote, Nintendo will have a harder time.

1. He appeals to his countrymen by showing some actual games running on real hardware, right there, that someone actually cares about. They show some value for money, and people take note. PS3 finally gets some credit.
2. They continue their bullish "we ARE the next generation" crap. Nobody listens. Crickets chirp as the same stuff is rolled out in front of the crowd. PS3 dives.
Sony needs the former, but I expect the latter.
