In case we need to remind you how much we like Rockstar’s Table Tennis, you might want to read some of our first thoughts on this marvellous sports game.

The more we play it (particularly online via Live) the more we enjoy it. Both the widespread critical acclaim and commercial success that Rockstar has so far achieved with this seemingly simple ping pong sim is fully deserved.

If you're a 360 gamer and don’t yet own the game, or - shockingly - have not yet even played it, then fear not, as a free demo will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace as of 1PM GMT this very day. Spot the key words in that last sentence. 'Free' and 'demo'. If you are not a 360 owner, then this game is currently the best reason to go out and buy one.

Whilst Microsoft’s next gen hope has been taking a lot of (mostly justified) flak of late for its dearth of triple-A games, there has been a handful of true gaming gems. The fact that Table Tennis, GRAW, Oblivion and PGR3 (amongst others) already exist is enough of a reason to go and shell out for a 360.

Anyway, our fingers are tired from writing so many laudatory words about this game, so we will merely select for you the ‘Top Five Words Used to Describe Rockstar’s Table Tennis’ which are;

1. Zen-like
2. Hyper-realistic
3. Intense
4. Pure
5. Fun

And with that, we’re off for another online Table Tennis battle, to get warmed up for the newbies who will no doubt be arriving in droves over the next few weeks, after having seen the light and played the free demo. That's 'free'. And 'demo'.

What? I never held table tennis bats like that when I played it all those years ago.

Then again, I never won a game either.

...Which gives me a stunning idea, which I should have patented before saying, but anyway...: they should have new paddle-holding positions available for download and maybe even a paddle-holding position editor - you could hold one of those in millions of different ways! - Ways I would like to see!
