It’s widely acknowledged to be one of the biggest PlayStation 3 games in development, and even though it’s not due for release till late 2007 at the very earliest, every time any new info or screens on Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid 4 make their way into the public domain, it understandably causes a bit of a stir amongst fans.

So, with little further ado, here’s a bunch of new MGS4 screens. As you can see, they look the bollocks. Plus, they are noticeably less 'green' than the batch we got back at E3, which can only be a good thing!

There’s a load more new ones at SPOnG’s dedicated Metal Gear Solid 4 page too, so you are going to want to go and have a peep at those as well.

More on MGS4 as and when we get it.

Some guy I know ran a program that counts colours in pictures. It's official, MGS4 is actually more brown than Quake.

Thank goodnewss sony put that BLU-Ray drive in the PS3 so that customers can experience beutifully detailed textures... like that repetitive, flat crud lining the inside of the cave and most of the walls and groudn in all the shots of this game i've seen :/

Don't get me wrong, snake looks fantastic(as do most of the other characters), but the backgrounds don't seem any better than ghost recon :/

I really love MGS games so this isn't a bashing, but i really hope they change location in this game.....very soon!..... but it wont be finished till the end of 2007 so Hideo (the genuis) has plenty of time. it;s true that this horrible murky brown/green colour palette seem's popular in PS3 titles @ the mo.

Apparently MGS4 will be set in a number of locales around the world.
All we've seen so far is the mid-east part, so I'm sure they're making full use of the palette.
