When we tried this at home we got hurt
Atari Europe announced today that the latest instalment in the huge Dragon Ball franchise will be released in March 2007 for the pleasure of wii (!) Europeans. The publisher has also helpfully dished out a few new screens and some nifty pics of a fella playing at home. Naturally, we have them for your browsing pleasure.
Titled Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, the game is a blend of action, fighting and light role-playing elements. It’s already available on the PS2, so you might have some notion of what to expect. That said, the Wii control system is likely to yield a very different gameplay experience.
We’ve yet to see a Wii game with a heavy beat-’em-up aspect (we’re discounting the fun but limited Wii Sports boxing game). This Friday’s Marvel: Ultimate Alliance will give us a taster for the genre on Wii, but SPOnG’s excited to see what a (nearly) pureblood, super-powered fightin’ game has to offer on the Wii.
Atari’s press release does spill some of the beans, stating that:
SPOnG has two pieces of advice on this. Firstly: heed the Wii’s helpful warnings on moving any fragile objects/people from your vicinity when attempting to replicate special moves. Secondly: do not, under any circumstances, let anyone see you doing it.

Using the Nunchuk, players will be able to mimic signature moves as they are performed in the Dragon Ball Z animated series, such as Goku’s Kamehameha, moving both hands to execute this devastating energy attack.

I hope Atari can sell this version better than previous version. They need the break after those Driver games.
I wonder what else Atari have ready for Wii?
