Code Monkeys: It's just so, well, 80s.
12 Jan 2007
'Mercan cable channel, G4, has given the go-ahead for a new cartoon comedy all about us gaming folk. And it’s going to look just like an early Nintendo game!
Dubbed Code Monkeys, the new show will follow the lives of two games developers in the good old '80s. The show will be penned (and directed, and starred in) by Adam de la Pena, the creator of the absolutely brilliant cartoon series, Minoriteam, under his Monkey Wrangler Productions banner.
Back to Code Monkeys though, which centres on two best mates, Dave and Jerry who, “live in a world where anything can happen," according to de la Pena. He also pointed out that the cartoon will be littered with allusions to classic '80s gaming goodness. Expect Ronald Reagan to be a recurring character, too.
The show will debut in the USA this Spring with a 14 episode stint on G4. As you probably guessed, there's no news on whether a UK channel will be picking it up. Best fire up your bit-torrent, folks.

Isn't G4 itself a great source of gaming comedy?
