News from down-under, via Sony Australia and New Zealand managing director Michael Ephraim, is that not only (like us Europeans) will Aussies and Kiwis be getting a free Blu-ray version of the Bond chick-flick,Casino Royale, they’ll also be getting Grand Turismo: HD as a free download via the Playstation Network.

SPOnG contacted Sony this morning in order to confirm that that same deal would be on the table to tempt the Northern Hemisphere into buying the PlayStation 3 come the March 23rd launch date, to find nobody available to comment at this time.

On a less PlayStationTastic note for the antipodeans – but a note that could ring more sweetly up this end of the world – rumours are doing the rounds that only 11,000 PS3s will be made available for the PAL launch in Aus.

In favour of this is the near-as-dammit AUS$1,000 price tag, and the fact that it’s going to be a Summer launch.

A free demo is better than a paid for demo!
