Sony Confirms Sub £40 PS3 Games
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has confirmed pricing for its first-party disc-based launch titles – and it’s £39.99 (€59.99).

The titles in question are:

Formula One Championship Edition
Genji: Days of the Blade
MotorStorm
Resistance: Fall of Man
Super Rub'a'Dub

In terms of the downloadables via the PlayStation Network, pricing is more fluid ranging from €2.99 (£2) to €9.99 (£6). These titles include.

Blast Factor
flOw
Go! Puzzle
Go! Sudoku
Lemmings
Ridge Racer 7
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection

According to Sony, other first party content, “…such as game items and premium video content will be priced on an easy to understand sliding scale of charges starting as low as €0.99 (66p) and increasing depending on the scope of the product. This could range from a new SingStar track to a premium pack for MotorStorm, which would include a new track, additional vehicles, liveries and multiplayer modes.”

News also in today is that, as expected, European PS3 owners (like their counterparts in Oceania) will be getting Gran Turismo HD Concept as a free download. Sony did flesh out the detail, somewhat, saying that, “Players start with one car on the Eiger Nordwand track in the Swiss Alps. When the track is completed within the time limit, another car is unlocked.

“There are nine further cars to unlock in this way, including a Ferrari 599 – the first time a Ferrari has appeared in Gran Turismo. In another first, Gran Turismo HD Concept’s Time Trial will bring into effect the first Gran Turismo online rankings system. For the first time, players will be able to track who the best Gran Turismo driver is – and we expect a lot of dedication to be put in.”

David Reeves, President and CEO of SCEE commented that the PlayStation network and connection were still both going to be free, and that, “With over 30 first and third party disc and network games available at launch, we are confident that this will be one of the most successful launches of all time.”
