Capcom Cagey On Resident Evil 5 Preview
Capcom still coy on release date and public unveiling of Res Evil 5
Posted 28 Mar 2007

Nothing has been publicly shown on the game since it was first announced way back in July 2005. Right now, Resident Evil 5 for PS3 and Xbox 360 is still looking like it's going to get a 2008 release.
A Capcom UK PR spokesman would neither confirm nor deny the appearance of RE5, "I cannot currently say if Resident Evil 5 will or will not be announced at the gamers day event next month", he told SPOnG.
SPOnG remains doubtful as to whether the title is to be finally unveiled next month.
However, we DO expect that attendees at next month's event will get to see the latest version of a number of Wii titles, including the hugely anticipated Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles as well as Treasure Island Z (pictured below) and more.
Capcom will also be showing the latest from the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4, but nothing as yet on the Xbox 360 version.
SPOnG will of course bring you all the latest on Resident Evil 5 as and when we get it.

It has been pointed out, elsewhere, that this press event is to showcase 2007 releases, as such RE5 is unlikely to be shown seeing as it is expected to be a 2008 release. Doesn't stop them having a "and this is what's coming next year..." bit at the end, but it's unlikely to get major promotion unless there's an unexpected change in its predicted release date.

Shouldn't worry too much. There's so much stuff coming from Capcom to 360. DMC4, Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2.
Don't mind so long as we get it eventually. Umbrella Chronicles on Wii can fill the gap this year.
Have to admit, I also got a 360 because of RE5, I'm such a big fan of RE series.
