Nintendo is offering a solution to tortuous hours spent waiting in U.S. airport terminals in the form of free downloadable demoes for the DS.

The ray of hope in your bleak pre-flight existence comes in the form of wireless download stations (pictured right) that will allow DS owners to download shortened versions of titles such as Brain Age, Elite Beat Agents, Cooking Mama and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend. The downloads will remain on your DS until you switch it off.

Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing, George Harrison, said, "Partnering with Delta builds on Nintendo’s goal to expand the world of video games to new audiences. Because people typically have a lot of down time, airports are ideal places for people young and old to try out free new game experiences and see what they like."

The download stations will be appearing at Delta Air Lines terminals at JFK, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Alas, with Delta being an American airline we seem destined to be stuck with our nasty shop-bought games.

Lets just hope there are no terrorist applications for DS demoes...
