EA has just released a new brand of video: a “pre-tease” trailer for something Need for Speed-related. It bears the date '30-05-07' plastered prominently across the footage's opening.

'Pre-tease for what?' you rightly ask. Clearly it's not a pre-tease for a game release, unless EA's radically re-thunk its marketing strategy. SPOnG called EA to ask if the footage is a pre-tease for an announcement, and was told “Possibly.”

The trailer looks suitably polished, suggesting a PS3/360-related announcement. Judging by the way Need for Speed: Carbon was whored out to every platform under the sun and EA's recent support of the Wii, however, SPOnG won't be surprised if this next release extends at least to Nintendo's home console.

The only other possible clue is the words "Team Session 2007" written down the side of the vee-hickle. "Team" you say?
