More Hair Metal For Guitar Hero II 80's Edition
Groan...

Yes - it's good to see the lads back.
Regular readers will recall how SPOnG got rather hot under its collective collar at the first sight of the track-listing for Activision's PS2 exclusive, Guitar Hero Rocks the '80s a few weeks ago. If not, you can read our disgust here.
Well, not only has Activision renamed the game to Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the '80s - adding the word Encore for some as yet unstated reason, it's also announced additional tracks.
So, just what 'legendary' or 'classic' slabs of raaaawk have been added to the existing sludge (Shurely, 'slew'. Ed) of artistes and titles? This is what:
18 and Life by Skid Row
Bathroom Wall by Faster Pussycat
Lonely is the Night by Billy Squier
Nothing But a Good Time by Poison
Play With Me by Extreme
Shaken by Eddie Money
Synchronicity II by The Police
We can see the inclusion of Skid Row, Faster Pussycat and Poison but we're bemused, disgusted, appalled and a whole bunch of words that The Daily Mail would use to describe any game by the inclusion of the bloody Police.

Play With Me?? bad enough its an Extreme song, but one I've never even heard of? I know they had at least one other song that got airplay besides More Than Words but I don't think that was it...
And Shakin'?? One of the worst music videos ever...not feeling it...
Which one was Synchronicity II...was that the one about the Loch Ness Monster? I think I preferred Ghost in the Machine...
feeling the lack of Motorhead...

FP did exude a genuinely seedy charm, but they were definitely heavily in GnR's image. Even to the extent of becoming influenced by industrial music, much like Axel Ros. They were fun, Shooting You Down was my fave track. I just copped a listen to it, it made me all nostalgific.
