Sony Japan has revealed a new PlayStation Network (PSN) puzzler that's due for release later this month, dubbed Piyotama.
In case you were wondering, 'Piyo' is (according to PC Advisor) the onomatopoeic word for the sound a chick (baby chicken) makes, while 'tama' means ball or sphere. Yup, it's that cute. The gameplay mechanics might sound vaguely familiar. It revolves around the manipulation of five different colours of egg. Players have to shift them around in order to get lines of four together so that they'll hatch into chicks. As you might expect, combos are welcome.
Sony has indicated that the game will make use of the SIXAXIS's motion-sensing functionality, but just how hasn't been made clear.
Does the whole thing ring any bells? In fairness to Sony, it's taken over six months to get its own block-destroying title onto PSN.
Piyotama will hit Japan on June 22nd, but no release date for Europe has been confirmed. Sony also took the opportunity to confirm that Super Stardust HD, which is due out over here this week, will get a Japanese release the following week under the name of Super Strike HD.
