Konami Skincare Guide For Nintendo DS
‘Get pretty while having fun’. Only in Japan.
Posted 14 Jun 2007

As far as ‘WTF’ style news stories go, this one is up there. Konami, of Pro Evolution Soccer and Metal Gear Solid fame, plan to launch a skincare guide for DS, giving beauty tips based on users' basal body temperature and hormone balance.
"We have developed the software under the concept of getting pretty while having fun," Konami Digital Entertainment Corporate Officer Naoyuki Notsu told a news conference earlier this week.
This bizarre soft(skin)ware is called Dream Skincare and features beauty adviser Chizu Saeki (pictured below), who appears in the game to give players pointers on skincare.
Dream Skincare will go on sale on October 18 in Japan for 4,500 yen (around £18) with no current plans to launch the software outside of Japan.
Whatever next? Suggestions below please...

I heartily advocate that girl gamers enjoy at least one facial every day! I'll happily provide one-to-one application demonstrations. And everyone know that awareness of one's basal metabolic rate is an essential part of modern living..

LOL. Whatever gets them buying a DS is a good thing. Good to see Konami thinking outside the usual gaming box. Obviously not what I'd buy, but someone out there would.

I would write a review of this, but I think that first post just topped whatever I could write on the matter. I doff my cap to you, sir.
