They came to the attention of Ars Technica via an EB newsletter. Apparently, the Strat' is "designed to mimic the iconic original, the Fender Strat comes complete with toggle switch allowing you to manipulate sound through reverb, flange, wah, delay and more."
Nice.

Looks like it's got a duplicate set of buttons up on the 12th fret for soloing, which is a nice addition.
Yeah, but it's still a Fender, a Strat'.... the ugliest of all guitars.

thats about the most dumb ass statement i think i have seen in a long time. obviously you must not know too much about guitars because schecter, washborn, and ibanez make some damn ugly guitars.
ps i am a strat player when i am not playing my custom parker fly.

Yes, Washburn, Schecter, BC Rich, Yamaha, Ibanez, Gibson all have nasty faces. But the Stratocaster is just so soullessly efficient, bland, and dull.
Give me a Fender Tele, a Jaguar, or a Mustang… but gods protect me from Stratocasting!

I had guessed that.
Why is it that all Strat-vangelists also have to have custom guitars, eh? I'll tell you why because the Strat is so soul-suckingly efficiently bland and therefore ugly! Strats are for Robert Cray, Hootie and the Blowfish and Eric Bloody Cleaned-Up Clapton!
Had Jimi owned my cheap-as-chips Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Special II Dr. Skull Guitar (limited edition because no one but me would have loved its cheaply tacky soul) or my Aria Pro II (cheap, cheap, cheap!) he would have lived I tells ya.
Cheers (I’m also a s**te guitar player)

thats funny...i think that strats are hot as hell followed by tele's but i think mustangs and jaguars look like s**te...
by the way...i needed a guitar that was more versatile which is why i picked up my custom fly. i had them put 2 single coils in the front so i could still the strat sound (which it does quite nicely), with the hum in the back for nice distortion...plus the piezo for acoustic. in addition to the fact that it perfectly fits the human body, weighs around 5 pounds, has stainless steel frets and an incredibly fast neck, it is just a nice guitar to play.
it is no strat (or any fender for that matter), but i am a huge as strat fan when it comes to my blues.
check out my tunes if you want (all acoustic)
