Nintendo claims that the recently announced WiiWare (or ‘Wii Software’ in Europe), will allow smaller companies and bedroom coders alike the opportunity to make games for widespread downloadable distribution on the Wii.

The first WiiWare title comes soon after, from Viennese company Bplus, in a game called PLATTCHEN - twist ’n’ paint.

The company describes the game as "innovative puzzle shooter game" and is supported by the test team of the Austrian Nintendo fanboy community ‘GameClub’

Bplus promises that PLATTCHEN - twist ’n’ paint will be an "easily accessible and exciting game experience that will easily attract hardcore Nintendo fans as well as relatively unexperienced players."

SPOnG will wait until we get a chance to play the game before we pass judgement, though its good to see someone out of the WiiWare starter gates so quickly.
