Konami is working on a successor to the online Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the PS3. Additionally, the company has announced that an expansion of Portable Ops for the PSP is on the way.

The news comes from Sony's PlayStation Premiere event in Japan yesterday. Following a demonstration of Metal Gear Solid 4 in action, Hideo Kojima – creator of the Metal Gear Solid series – said that the online functionality of Subsistence was such a success that Konami wants to rinse and repeat. Little more was said, but it was confirmed that the new game will be for the PS3 and more details will be revealed at Metal Gear's 20th anniversary party next week.

Another reason for Konami to be Sony's bottom bitch for eternity. I'm sorry (and I love Konami's games) but these guys are turning into suckers now. The age of exclusives is fast dwindling but Konami still feel the need to go against the tide.

Is PS3 the only system online, now? Of course not. Such loyalty will not be rewarded in Valhalla. lol.
