Valve has just announced that publisher THQ is the latest major name to sign a deal to distribute its PC games via the Steam download service.

THQ’s games being made available to download come, apparently, from "some of the most prestigious development studios in the gaming industry". These include Gas Powered's Supreme Commander, Pandemic's two Full Spectrum Warrior Games, Relic's Warhammer 40,000 games and Company of Heroes, Lore's Titan Quest and its expansion and. If all of those weren’t enough, GSC Game World's mighty S.T.A.L.K.E.R. also gets a look in.

"In the past couple of years, THQ has established itself as one of today's premier PC publishers," said Gabe Newell, co-founder and president of Valve.

"This success has come through delivering truly innovative gameplay experiences in the most popular PC genres. It's great to finally be working together with THQ and its studio system and offer this award-winning line up to Steam's growing audience, which represents over 13 millions accounts."

THQ follows Eidos, Activision, Capcom, Ubisoft and numerous other major publishers and independent studios already distributing PC titles via Steam.

Perhaps they should talk to Take 2 and add Manhunt 2 in there as well. Since they can't sell the physical game in shops yet, there's nothing that says they can't sell it for download over Steam.

Can some one at Spong, find out if Rockstar/Take 2 have looked at this option for Manhunt 2?

Currently, Manhunt 2 is PS2 and Wii only, there is no official PC version.
