Super Contra Blasts Onto Live Arcade Today
Splat aliens with extreme prejudice in retro classic
Posted 25 Jul 2007

The Konami goodness just doesn’t stop today, with classic side-scrolling shooter Super Contra (the sequel to Contra, from way back in SPOnG’s arcade ‘salad days’ of 1988) now available on Xbox Live Arcade.
Super Contra takes place in December 2634, a year after the events of the original Contra and added a top-view perspective to the side-scrolling, up-scrolling, and pseudo-first-person gameplay of the original Contra.
Aliens control a base somewhere in South America and playing as Bill Rizer or Lance Bean its up to you to destroy them with extreme prejudice.
Super Contra will set you back 400 points and you can play the original version or the HD-enhanced version of the game in co-op mode over Live or on your own if you are Billy-No-Mates.
