The Charts: Pokemons Get Caught On DS
Pokemon Diamond has achieved a double whammy in the Charts this week. The DS title from Nintendo has both dislodged Harry Potter from the top spot and become the fastest selling DS game ever.

Not only that, but Diamond also nabs the honour of being the second fastest selling Pokemon title, coming in behind only Pokemon Yellow on the Gameboy Colour seven years ago. The game's partner in strange little creature catching, Pokemon Pearl, lands at Number 3.

Diamond's chart-topping shenanigans are close to being spoiled by Activision’s Transformers, however. The movie tie-in gets a 76% boost in sales thanks to the film's release, keeping it at Number 2. It only misses Number 1 by a teensy 217 sales.

EA's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is knocked down to Number 4 after four weeks at the top.

Nintendo platforms have six exclusives in the Top 10 this week, with four on DS and two on the Wii. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree sees a 44% rise in sales on its launch week, but slides one place to Number 5. Wii Play also drops in spite of a sales climb, slipping two spots from Number 5 to Number 7. The Nintendo platform exclusives are rounded out by Dr Kawashima's brain training titles, with More Brain Training dropping three places to Number 6 and the original dropping one place to Number 9.

The Top 10 is finished off by Activision’s Shrek the Third at Number 8 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour '07 from EA at Number 10.

EA has another sporting game in the Top 40, with Rugby '08 making its first appearance at Number 22, while Activision’s Transformers: Autobots débuts at Number 38.

Keep an eye out for Singstar '90s and Surf's Up next week.
