Eidos Announces Highlander – First Screens
Don’t lose your head, etc.

23 Aug 2007
SCi nabbed the Highlander license a few years back and the company has finally announced today that the Highlander videogame is set to be released, published by Eidos, on PS3, 360 and PC next year. See the first bunch of screens right here.
The game is, unsurprisingly, a third-person action adventure set in the Highlander universe where you play as an Immortal battling rival Immortals through the ages. Starring 77 characters with the new main character, Owen Macleod, the game also features familiar characters from series and movies.
Highlander will be set across epic historical locations - a near future New York, Pompeii before the eruption, Scottish Highlands in the medieval ages and Japan during the Samurai era.
Try out your katana, claymore and double sword as you master a range of intriguing sounding navigation features - Dagger climbing, Ropes, Dynamic ladders, Swan dive, Freefall, Traverse climbing, Cannonball, Beams and Ziplines.
As an immortal you will also get access to Quickening techniques such as Resurrection, Chi balance (stamina), Weapon Mastery (Fireblade, Wind Fury, Stone Armour) and Channelling the Source (charge up for powerful attacks).
More on Eidos’ Highlander as we get it. In the meantime, check out SPOnG’s recent interview with Eidos’ bossman Ian Livingstone, talking about the importance of iconic characters in videogames.
