Included in the list are Simian Mobile Disco (UK), CSS (Brazil), Datarock (Norway), Dover (Spain), Ivy Queen (Puerto Rico), Junkie XL (Holland), Maximo Park (UK), Mexican Institute of Sound (Mexico), Peter Bjorn And John (Sweden), Planet Funk (Italy), Superbus (France), The Cat Empire (Australia), and Wir Sind Helden (Germany).
SPOnG let out a near-deafening whoop of excitement when we saw... who are we kidding? Maximo Park are OK, we suppose and the resident Aussie said something about Cat Empire and the word, 'funky'... so we can probably give them a miss.
Should football games even have soundtracks? Footballers don't even listen to this sort of stuff, do they?
Also included are new artists The Hoosiers (UK), Babamars (France), Bodyrox (UK), Junkie XL (Holland), and Santogold (USA). That's right, new. So you have an excuse not to have ever heard of them.
Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music at EA, is thoroughly enthused. “We’ve been working for nearly a year to deliver what we believe is the ultimate FIFA 08 soundtrack” he commented.
“These are the most songs ever in a FIFA edition representing the most countries in the history of the videogame. In addition to an unprecedented mix of great global artists and some killer debut acts, we’re also proud to showcase our première Artwerk signings Junkie XL, Jupiter One and Datarock. And as in seasons past, we know that some of the hottest new artists of the coming year will emerge from our soundtrack.”
You can see the full list of songs in the table below, followed by SPOnG's pick for the soundtrack. Find out more about FIFA 08 on SPOnG's dedicated game page. And don't whinge because we've chosen scousers - as yet we're unaware of Huddersfield Town or Bristol Rovers recording anything chart-worthy. Your opinions on your own choice of ultimate soccer soundtrack to the Forum please.

A good list as any. I liek these EA soundtracks, never thought I 'd say that, but after Burnout 3, they swayed me.

Junkie XL? New?
Is that the same Junkie XL who has been making music since 1997 and had a number one hit reworking Elvis Presley's 'Little Less Conversation' over 5 years ago?

Try not to overdue listening to "Young Floks" by Peter Bjorn and John. It gets stuck in your head easily...
