Games For Windows Live Update Coming Soon
Microsoft takes to making up words
Posted 9 Oct 2007

Word has just come from Microsoft that it will shortly be releasing an update for Games for Windows Live - the beautifully named V1.2.
The update won't be huge, but it will include the welcome addition of being able to rack up Gamerscore points offline. Offline gaming is, SPOnG's assured, something that does still happen.
Also included will be the ability to see whether your mates are "joinable" (who decided to let Microsoft start making up words?) in games.
The last features Microsoft has told us about are some nebulously labelled "additional UI (user interface) features".
V1.2 will complement V1.1, released in August, which added five new languages, 12 new gamer pictures and some new backend functionality for the platform.
Microsoft also took the opportunity to point out that upcoming titles The Club (SEGA) Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (Eidos), Universe at War: Earth Assault (SEGA), Gears of War (Microsoft) and Viva Piņata (Microsoft), will all support Games For Windows Live. Thanks guys.
Expect the update at some point in "the November time frame."
