Xbox Live Set For India
Exclusive local content planned

25 Oct 2007
Microsoft is extending the reach of its Xbox Live service to India, with the country set to get the online gaming and entertainment platform on November 5th.
The network will launch with a bevy of region-specific content, such as downloadable Bollywood films and trailers. Other than that, the service will mirror other regions, with users being able to choose between gold and silver membership.
"We have just celebrated the first anniversary of Xbox 360 in the country this year and it is with a celebratory spirit that we offer our Indian consumers even more entertainment options on Xbox 360,” Robbie Bach, Microsoft’s global president of the Entertainment and Devices Division said.
"This is not only a firm reiteration of our commitment to the Indian market, but also an exciting foray into connecting our Indian consumers to a world of seven million Xbox Live members around the world", he added.

UK 360 owners would be within their rights to get a bit miffed at the fact that India, despite getting Xbox Live close to two years after us, is getting downloadable film content before we do.
