If you're looking for something a little bit different from Guitar Hero 3, Xbox Live has something that's right up your street.

The Halo Theme (MJOLNIR Mix) has been made available as a free track for GH3 by Neversoft, Bungie, Activision/RedOctane and Microsoft.

The theme was written, composed and performed by Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori, with Grammy Award winner Steve Vai contributing his unique brand of flashy guitar fanciness.

The track's available now, but since the game doesn't get released here in Europe until tomorrow we've got a teensy wait on our hands.

Unsurprisingly, the track is a 360 exclusive.

It's not all s**ts and giggles for Activision et al at the moment, however, since The Romantics have decided to go all Spinal Tap on their corporate asses.
