Let's see if the fanboys rant about this image...
The UK charts (courtesy of Chart Track) are in and something astonishing has happened. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games - which did not even feature in last week's Top 40 - has smashed its way to the Number 1 spot.
According to our information, this actually means that the game, which sold "around one thousand units the week before" has increased its sales by 2,800%. Such a percentage is, however, more 'Wow!' than useful - due to the low base it derives from (the 'around 1,000 units').
This rise in sales comes from the fact that there is now actually stock of both the game and the Wii on which to play it finally hitting retail outlets.
Stay tuned for the full chart run down later this evening.
