Far Cry 2 Trailer Parked Here
Far Cry 2 teaser video within...
Posted 24 Jan 2008

So, Ubisoft Montreal is proving to us that it has indeed taken the Far Cry series away from the tropical island backdrop that has marked the earlier games. Where is that proof, it's in the teaser trailer at the bottom of this story.
It's all about the landscape (baby!). You won't find even a smidgeon of action, but you will find the 'purdy' African planes that will make up the 50 square-kilometre open gameplay area for the game.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft is hedging its bets as to when it will actually put the game out, having dropped its commitment to a 2008 release and instead opting for "fiscal 2008-2009". So, it could be a while before you get to trek around the environment below.
Keep an eye on SPOnG's dedicated Far Cry 2 game page for more news, videos and screens as they hit.

I take it thats running on a 16 core processor with 1 petabyte of ram and 8 SLI 8800`s, any chance of seeing this on 360? i would say PS3 as well but i like my live for online gaming.although it is nice to PC gaming getting some graphical goodness.

Don't worry, its been specifically made as yet another console fps.
And its using yet another ubisoft propietary engine. Not the Splinter Cell Unreal based one... not the Assassins Creed one... No not the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 engine thats just regular Unreal 3... No not the Haze engine they dont that, yet. Ah the GRAW2 engine you say... good guess, but no.
Nope its a yet another new fps engine.
Ubisoft Montreal should just stop making games and start making game engine for everyone else. That or they have some serious codename issues with their engines.
