The Charts: Sonic and Mario Race the Devil

Who wins?

19 Feb 2008

Fourth time's a charm it would seem, looking at this week's charts. It's charming at least, if you're SEGA that is. Sonic and Mario have raced the devil and won, putting Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games at Number 1 for the fourth time since its release.

The DS can be thanked for the duo's return to the top, with the recently released handheld version accounting for a whopping 93% of the game's sales.

SEGA's leap to the top spot like a high jumper with springs on his(/her – girls can jump too) feet, means that Capcom's Devil May Cry 4 is relegated to Number 2. Beneath it, Disney's Turok holds fast at Number 3.

Activision’s Call of Duty 4 manages to climb three places back into the Top 5, resting at Number 4. Wii Play once again rounds out the Top 5.

After last week's slew of new releases, there are only two new entries into the Top 40 today. Midway's Game Party for the Wii debuts at Number 15, while 505 Games' Cooking Mama 2 for the DS enters the Charts at Number 33.

Next week, watch out for Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity for the Wii and PS2, Jumper and FIFA Street 3.
