Those crazy guys over at Insomniac Games have offered a hint of a tease that Resistance: Fall of Man 2 might be out as soon as July.

In a video titled 'Ballz - EXCLUSIVE RESISTANCE 2 EASTER EGGS' showing Insomniac's "own 'Jack Black'" (their words, not ours) you can see a monitor for all of a split second (dutifully pictured by SPOnG to the right) with the number 0708 displayed before an Insomniac staff member jumps on it.

It might be a red herring. It might relate to something else entirely - possibly a demo. Or, it might just be the release date for the upcoming shooter. 07/08 could be July 8th (Americans show dates as MM/DD rather than vice versa as we do), but it's unlikely, given that's a Tuesday. Alternatively, it could mean July 2008...

SPOnG has contacted Sony on the subject, but no comment was available at the time of press.

Another tidbit in there (once again on a hastily covered-up monitor) is the phrase "12 new Chimeran enemies". Have you spotted anything else in there? Let us know in the Forum.

Update: Thanks to Scott in the Forum, who informs us, "in America, new releases of pretty much everything (games, movies, music, etc) come out on Tuesdays, so the fact that July 8 is a Tuesday adds credibility to the idea that 0708 could represent the release date."
