Rumour Bust: Dark Sector Never Going to be Canned on PS3
PS3 development was "challenging"

28 Feb 2008
Despite rumours to the contrary, SPOnG can confirm that darkSector never came close to being cancelled for the PS3. The rumours emerged following comments from darkSector's producer, Josh Austin of Digital Extremes, who said of the game, "Towards the end we started having some serious conversations about what we were gonna do".
We contacted Josh for clarification and were told:
"The development of Dark Sector for the PlayStation 3 was challenging, but there was never any question that the game would ship on both systems. Dark Sector looks amazing and performs well on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 -- we expect fans will be hard-pressed to find graphical or performance differences between either one."
What stands is the fact that Digital Extremes found the PS3 development of darkSector "challenging". Digital Extremes is not alone in this, joining the likes of Rockstar and EA.

Yes and all the developers who have been saying that time and time again have been WRONG - Xbox 360 versions have always looked better, better textures and better colours none of that foggy crap and blurryness found in PS3 games, take Turok, Lost Planet and Devil May Cry 4 for example. With DMC 4 someone made up the shitty excuse that it was like that cos of motion blur - how the fuck do you get motion blur when nothing is moving on screen??? PS fans getting desperate since they know that the PS3 contains and out of date obsolete GPU compared to the superior 360 GPU.

I really do find myself hard-pressed to agree with Spong's choice not to allow users to 'block' other users comments from appearing on screen. I am all for freedom of speech, or at least I thought I was. Honestly, I took a two month leave of absense from this site purely just to rid myself of the desire to kill that formulates every time I read SS4's spewings! It's so strange - he throws up whatever garbage springs to his ass of a mind but sometimes, if offended deeply enough, retracts and actually says... well, nothing really worthwhile (though, sure enough neither do I most of the time) but at least nothing completely obviously ignorant - then why always revert to the idiotic childish vomit time and time again.
I realise this isn't a forum dedicated to the life and times of a SS4 sufferer, so I'll ask simply, as no review was posted that I could find - is Devil May Cry 4 any good? I loved 1, bought and enjoyed 2 but as it lasted a measly 5 minutes I never gave three a chance.. should I revert with 4?
