What with the PS3's launch anniversary in Europe fast approaching, we thought we'd try and find out just how well the beast has been stacking up against its elder sibling.
So, we asked those good people at Chart-Track to lets us into some UK-only figures.
So, they told us that in terms of software units sold, the PlayStation 3 has been outselling the PS2 in terms of units sold... since February this year. Sales in terms of value - PS3 games are more expensive than PS2 - have been in favour of the PS3 since January.
The actual figures in February for software units sold saw the PS3 standing at 9.4% all video games software sold, with PS2 standing at 8.3% - these figures are, of course, copyright ELSPA and compiled by Chart-Track.
Bear in mind that that the Nintendo DS in the same month took nearly 25% of the entire market on its own.
It's also worth noting that pre-owned (second hand) sales of video games software are not reported - so they can't be tracked.
The PS3 was launched on March 23rd 2007 - relive those golden moments
