Play Little Big Planet and LEGO Indiana Jones at Wembley
At last, confirmation of the line-up for the UK, consumer-focused video gaming Play.com Live bash at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of March this year.

Before we go all smart-arsed and cynical on this - it is without doubt a great idea to have a consumer show in the UK. It's about time the people playing the games had a chance to get involved. "Fair Play!" We say.

Right back to normal SPOnG service...

We've been told that you'll be able to play LEGO Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Condemed 2, Sega Superstar Tennis, Rock Band, LittleBigPlanet and DeBlob among others...

In fact, "All the major video games companies, including Sega, Electronic Arts (EA), Activision, Microsoft, THQ and Ubisoft will be showcasing their hits for 2008."

Tickets cost £6 per adult and £3 for children via www.play.com. They are available to buy for morning or afternoon visits to the show on either day or you can buy VIP weekend tickets for £16.

We are told to point out that "Children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult. Those who are not accompanied by an adult will not be permitted to enter the Stadium without proof of age."

Are you a child if you're over 16? We can't remember.

Aside from the video games, there will also be a bunch of stars who are riding off the back of the cool provided by video games. No, that's plain churlish - a bunch of stars who want to play video games just like you do, except they get in free...

American band (who the Evil Editor confused with 'The Scientists') 'We Are Scientists' will be playing for the young people on the Sunday.

Saturday sees the headlining popular music act, Elliot Minor - apparently from up here in Yorkshire.

The line-up for both days can be found at the foot of this tale of rock'n'roll excess.

We are also told that, "This jam-packed weekend will also see various famous faces enjoying the activities on stage and give fans the opportunity to meet and greet music, TV and sporting personalities, such as:

* Jamie Cullum - ("Jazz hobbit" - says Andy SPOnG)
* Tara Palmer-Tomkinson ("IT girl, with a silent 'SH'" - Andy SPOnG)
* Duncan James – ("We are dancing on very thin ice - talent-wise" - Evil Editor)
* Jean-Christophe Novelli – ("Cooking Papa" - Mark SPOnG)
* Lee Sharpe – ("Ex-Torquay and L**ds United footballer" - Andy SPOnG)
* Tom Voyce – ("Plays rugby and that" - Mark SPOnG)
* John Hart – ("Me too" - John Hart)
* Fraser Waters ("And me.." Fraser)
* George Skivington ("I like to maul as well" - George)
* Roberto Di Matteo ("Doesn't even understand rugby" - Evil Editor)

The whole thing will be compèred by shaply Gemma Atkinson and TV's Iain Lee - who apparently still has our PSP.

Bands
* Saturday 15 March
o Elliot Minor
o The Rumble Strips
o Vincent Vincent and the Villains
o Beth Rowley

* Sunday 16 March
o We Are Scientists
o You Me At Six
o Go:Audio
