It would seem that Haze will never ever find its way onto a platform other than the PS3.
Website, Ripten, while not providing a direct quote, reports, "When asking (two separate Ubisoft reps) whether the game will ever come out for the Xbox 360, they said in a resolute fashion that the game is not just a PS3 timed exclusive, but will never make its way onto any other platform".
That's right, "any other platform." If the report is to be believed, this isn't even just a console exclusive - it won't be heading to PC, either.
While Ubisoft has said for a while that Haze will be a PS3 exclusive, it was assumed by many that the exclusive would be timed and that it would appear on other platforms at a later date.

The game was not always planned as an exclusive. The initial announcement from Ubisoft told us, "HAZE is scheduled for an early 2007 release for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and will also be available on Windows PC DVD-ROM."
Try not to snigger at the words, "early 2007 release"... The game now looks set for a May launch - so says a video you can see here.
SPOnG has contacted Ubisoft for confirmation that Haze will never leave the PS3, but no comment was available at the time of press.

Personally, I've loved playing FPS on PlayStations and find the DualShock controller to be a thing of wondrous joy for first-person shooters, ever since TimeSplitters on PS2. In fact, I used to be a keyboard/mouse FPS die-hard, but I actually prefer to use a pad these days... PC FPS are in danger of being "point and click" affairs; I like the fact that a pad needs a little more skill but if the game is done well, you can be pretty deft. Call of Duty 4 works wonders on the PS pad. The symmetry of it is a beautiful thing. It's not the pad that's the problem, it's the users; or more specifically, what the user is used to. Personally I find the 360 pad to be a pile of old arsenuts, the d-pad on it is shit, the buttons are horrible and everything feels like it is in the wrong place, and the shape feels weird. But I'm fully aware that's just because I'm used to the classic symmetry and comfort of the DualShock design, and not because the 360 pad looks like a Fisher Price toy designed by a demented toddler.
PS Haze will be cool if there's enough variation in what you're shooting at. Free Radical are great developers and surely won't drop the ball on this one...
