The Metal Gear Solid 4, gun metal grey PS3 has been confirmed for release in the United States by Konami.

The grey PS3 (full name: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Limited Edition PlayStation 3 Hardware Bundle) is a "VERY, VERY Limited Edition bundle" we are told by Konami on the US PlayStation Blog. The Japanese version (which is already sold out on Konami's online store) comes with a 40GB hard drive and Dual Shock 3 controller. Full details of exactly what the US edition will include have yet to be confirmed.

Also revealed was the box art for the less-limited Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 hardware bundle for the States. You can see the box below.

Finally, we've got the box art for the standard and limited editions of MGS4 in the States. For good measure, SPOnG's decided to throw in the European packaging for you to take a nosey at.

SPOnG contacted Sony to find out if there are any plans for the gun metal grey PS3 to make it over here, but no comment was available at the time of press.

Judging by the amount of new PS3 stock keeping units and bundles coming out at the moment, SPOnG can't help but wonder if Sony hopes to make no two PS3 packages the same...
