Nintendo Dominates 2007 Japanese Software Sales

Xbox 360 suffers

14 Apr 2008

Japanese games statistician, Media Create, has released figures for the 500 best selling software titles in 2007 in Japan, showing just how well Nintendo platforms dominated* the market.

In the Top 30 titles, only four games are not on either the Wii or DS (Media Create charts are split into individual stock keeping units (SKUs)). Those four are split between the PSP and PS2 - the Xbox 360 and PS3 don't feature.

Unsurprisingly, Wii Sports is the top title with nearly two million sales in 2007, followed by Wii Play with a little over one and a half million.

If you want to see an Xbox 360 title in the list, you have to go all the way down to Number 171, where you'll find Namco Bandai's Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. The mighty Halo 3 only just sneaks into the Top 200, picking up Number 197.

Thats mighty impressive stuff,

All this from a company that had a dead in the water Cube to this, and to think..

each Wii sold makes profit,
each DS sold makes profit
every Nintendo game made this gen has sold and made profit
and each 3rd party Wii/DS game made makes Nintendo profit.

Wont be long before every breath you take makes nintendo profit!

and i wasnt talking about The Police.
