After having Grand Theft Auto IV playing in the SPOnG office for the last few days we're all feeling a bit aggressive. We want to go out and... shoot people? Maybe punch them in the face? Drive over them? It's strange. So, when we saw these new shots from Capcom's Street Fighter IV, our hearts leapt in an abnormal manner. We thought we ought to share them.
Below, we've got Balrog looking crazy like a man who gets punched in the brains for a living, we've got Bison blasting around in a blur of purple fury, we've got Vega getting all swanny and Sagat being... well, Sagat.

Spong I thought this game was for the Japanese arcades only? If this is true is there really any point in us reading up and looking at images of a game that is for Japan arcades only?
As its rather upsetting for me to see a game I want on my console that may not appear although it would be a stupid move by Capcom.

yeah, they'll never release it on the consoles, you're right, the biggest one on one fighting game franchise ever. mhm, wow, why do you say such stupid, ill informed and hear say (not the musical group) based comments.
about this game though.... its turning into just an update of street fighter 2, every character is in it... im not sure if its a good thing, i mean, they are releasing (deep breath) Super street fighter 2 hyper remix. or whatever super duper title it has. so the only thing that is new about this game so far, is a slightly new perspective, a couple of new characters, and a different parry system.
all for £45....
i hope there's more to it, otherwise there is no point in making this a next street fighter sequel proper.
hmmm.....

Its because I tend to read every bit of gaming news I can get my hands on thats how I know what I have put down!!
It was clearly stated by Capcom Japan in an interview a couple of months or so back that the game was scheduled to be released for Japanese arcades ONLY!
Why dont you go do some research or something huh?

i know what was said, i also know that even the not very sucessful street fighter 3 was ported to consoles, that is why what has been said, has been said. also... capcom have said that street fighter 4 will be ported to consoles no earlier than 2009, sounds quite like they have plans to port to consoles to me.
where where you when you didnt read that bit of gaming news.
and also, if you read every bit of gaming news you can get hold of, why are you complaining about a game being spoken about, thats "only being released in in japanese arcades", surely, you, the person that reads every bit of gaming news would like to read up about that.

Super, Capcom put SF4 in the arcade because it was born and earned its bruises in the arcades, but obviously the are gonna put it on consoles, because that's where the real money is. Capcom are just pleasing the fighter fan buy putting it in arcades first. Beats a demo dowload anyday.
This is no different to what Bandai Namco do with Tekken or Soul Calibur. Japanese arcades are good testing grounds for these types of game, and help promote and sell the console versions too.
