Fitness training, seriously, some SPOnG members faint at the thought of it (some feint, but only during the fencing elements). If you've got shares in Nintendo, however, the mere sight of other people prancing up and down on the Wii Fit balance board is enough to make you heavier - well, your wallet.

"We want some of that!" said someone at Atari. So it has announced the arrival of Family Trainer for the Wii - you and your family will be able to lay feet on it in September.

So, what is it? Well, it's Wii Fit but it's aimed at the family rather than the... hold on?

Here's what Atari says, "The game includes the specially designed Family Trainer mat controller which, when combined with the Wii Remote, lets players get totally physical in a series of crazed challenges. Unlike other games for the Wii which only focus on the arms, Family Trainer gets the feet involved too for total body gameplay..."

Like other games for the Wii that only focus on the arms? Aside from Wii Fit, does any Wii game concentrate on the feet or nose?

Anyway... we are awaiting illustrations of this here new foot controller device because we want to see how you interface it with the Wii controller? Frankly, our copy of Wii Fit is being downright insulting at the moment, so we'd been keen to see a more polite sort of health game that lies through its teeth.

Screens for Family Trainer are below and over here on our dedicated game page.

What about a car racing game that uses the wii fit as the gas/brake, and the wii-mote as the steering wheel? This would be a seriously interesting combination.
