Space. It's big and that. Too big for BioWare to consign Mass Effect to a single platform. After all the time and money spent on the Xbox 360 version Mass Effect in all its sprawling galactic splendour, the game is being brought to the PC. SPOnG has a video of the game's combat in action lest we had forgotten.

The PC version of Mass Effect has attracted a fair amount of controversy thanks to the inclusion of SecuROM as an anti-piracy measure. You can read all about it here.
