Spinning out of Microsoft's Japanese press conference showcasing the Xbox 360's RPG line-up comes details of what Square Enix has in the pipeline.

In amongst the information dished up is the fact that Star Ocean: The Last Hope - the fourth game in the series - will appear on the Microsoft platform. It is unclear at this point whether the game will be exclusive to the 360. A trailer was shown at the event - you can catch it below.

Square also stated that The Last Remnant will be launched this winter in what the company is calling a "global release... on the Xbox 360 ". The title will also be released on PS3, but whether it will come out alongside the 360 version is unclear. Previously Square had stated that the game would have a simultaneous launch in Japan and North America, but only that a European release was "planned".

The September 5th release date for Infinite Undiscovery in Europe - three days after its North American and Japanese release - was also reiterated.

John Yamamoto, president and CEO of Square Enix Ltd. and Square Enix, Inc. said, “Square Enix is expanding on its commitment to deliver exciting gaming experiences to our fans all around the world. Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant and Star Ocean: The Last Hope represent significant steps in bringing our titles to a global audience and to make each new release a global event.”

The word "global" keeps popping up in relation to Square at the moment. Following comments by the company's Japanese president, Yoichi Wada, the publisher has been pushing simultaneous global launches, shifting away from the usual lag between its Japanese launches and those in North America and PAL territories.

Whether Square placing emphasis on the 360 can help the console's poor sales in Japan, of course, remains to be seen.

I personally dont give a flying fuck about the Japanese market, USA and Europe are far bigger and if Japanese developers have any sense on making money they will cater for the bigger markets.

Frankly... screw you Squeenix. For far to long you've been milking the FF brand name with little substance to show for it. You are still taking a huge dunk all over Europe every chance you get. You are still taking a lifetime to develop FF games for no obvious reason. You refuse to remake or make a decent sequel to FF7, yet you milk with horrible horrible spin offs and mobile games.

Release your games for the PS3, 360 and wii similtaeniously in all regions and be done with it and quit backstabbing everyone.

Have you seen the ingame visuals of Last Remnant and Last Hope? They look very much like Lost Odyssey with this flat environment feel and no vibrance overall I was rather appaulled by the poor look visuals and the battle system with all that junk on the screen.

To top it off funny enough Too Human looks exactly the same! Again flat environment blocky feel.

Square Enix FF13 looks fantastic from the early screens looks like 360 is left with substandard JRPG's.

I say screw the lot of them and lets wait for Fallout 3 and Fable 2!
