Update: Capcom has told SPOnG, "We have no announcements to make regarding the Mega Man series at this time."

Mega Man 9 has been uncovered. More specifically, a listing for the game has turned up on the Australian Classification Board's website.

As tends to be the case, not a vast amount is revealed by the listing. The site lists the game as "Multi Platform" and has given it a rating of 'G' for 'general'. Clearly the game exists and is largely complete, as the Board has been able to classify it. SPOnG hasn't as yet come across a classification for a rumour.

Over the last few years the Mega Man series has appeared primarily on the DS, but assuming the "Multi Platform" listing is correct (and that Capcom isn't breaking with tradition), at least one other platform needs to be accounted for. The Wii, perhaps?

SPOnG has contacted Capcom for more information but no comment was available at the time of press.

You can see the listing here.
