PlayStation 3 Owners Average Over 44 Years Old
Seriously, we love research

This man owns a Dreamcast (probably).
We love analysts and market researchers in the same way that we love custard pie fights and people slipping all over icy lakes. Here's what the latest data from Experian Consumer Research has to tell us (and we presume marketeers) about people who play video games.
A quick run down of the 'data' suggests that PS3 owners are 44 years old and care about home decoration (and antique shopping) more than Xbox 360 owners. Both groups are pretty damned macho when it comes to the whole crying thing.
Hold your breath... now
* The Nintendo Wii console appears to appeal more to the 18-24 demographic, while the Xbox 360 appeals more to the 35-44 demographic and the PlayStation 3 appeals more to those over 44.
* Overall, those that own or play Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 watch slightly less television than the population of New Media respondents. This disparity is most prominent during early evening.
* Xbox 360 owners like books more than PS3 owners.
* Xbox 360 owners like video games consoles more than PS3 owners... eh?
The survey made the following statements (responses are in brackets):
* Real Men Don't Cry (Xbox 360 owners = 147 / PS3 owners = 147).
* Money Is The Best Measure Of Success = (Xbox 360 owners = 146 / PS3 owners = 135).
* I Like To Stand Out In A Crowd = (Xbox 360 owners = 138 / PS3 owners = 121).
* Home Decor Is Particular Interest To Me = (Xbox 360 owners = 77 / PS3 owners = 87).
You can, if you really feel the need, download the Powerpoint (after filling in some details from here).
So, do you love antiques or do you prefer money? Are you a 96 year-old SNES owner? Tell us all about it in the Forum.

This is really at odds with what I know of PS3 owners in my area... I've got 3 friends with PS3's all under the age of 30. I know noone over 30 w/ a PS3.

Who writes or researches this jibe? I hate these kind of things, as all they want to do is put everyone in a box.
I don't recall being asked, either.
