Diablo III Demo Leaked?

Diablo III Demo Leaked?
The official demo of the just-announced Diablo III has apparently been leaked.

This comes from a website called Revolution, which has posted links to the supposed demo download files. The leak apparently comes from one of the game's beta testers.

Either Revolution or the poor old beta tester asks you to kindly "Keep this private!!!" Yes, that's right. Someone said, on a public website, about content relating to a hugely anticipated video game, "Keep this private". It also says, "Do not share"... and then prints all the links.

SPOnG currently has the files downloading, so can confirm that they are real packages. What's inside them, however, remains to be seen. If this proves to be a bona fide demo, we'll be mightily surprised.

Diablo III was announced by Blizzard on Saturday at its 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational in gay Paris.

I really think its about time strict restrictions were put on not only PC games but console games to something that soo much security you would have to waste years to try and crack it and commit piracy.

If I was a company losing money due to all this crap that goes on I would slap on tons of security or download only with an access key or something and those that complain are or would be in my eyes the pirates.

Wow! You're a genius! Us developers had never considered making it hard for people to copy games! We're all going to try that right now. I'd suggest you now either get yourself a job in the industry, set yourself up as a security consultant or maybe try sorting out the problems in the Middle East. That should all be well within your abilities.

Might it not be wise to remove the source link? Otherwise it could be construed you're abetting piracy.

You make a good point. However, firstly it's purportedly a demo (and free).

Secondly, I don't actually think it's the real McCoy.

I'll look into it more closely. As I said, though, a good point.

Seriously what do you think they have now, slight resrtictions,

like advising if your copy of the disc doesnt have the micky mouse hologram then please dont use it!
or
every copy of the game having a password on installation thats the same password for every single copy of the game and that password is password but if you click skip it will!

FFS SS4 some of your comments are the most pure amazingly yokel funny things ever.... to the max!

sorry to burst your bubble guys, but the link clearly states that is just an HD video of the demo being played, not an actual demo game!

That wasn't on the webpage, earlier, guessing they've had some complaints about what was actually in the archive.

Hi

Cheers for posting.

Certainly no bubble burst on this one though. We were always dubious about the 'demo' nature of the 'leak'.

We'll update and move on.

hey I just made some random research on the web, apparantly, an employee took a shot at his PC screen where he work (forgot the name I think its gamespot, could be wrong, IDK ^ ^) and you see he clicked on Diablo III to highlight it to make it clearer to read, it says 03/01/2011, Diablo III, 59,99$ and few moments (days or hours, IDK) after, wal-mart estimated theyre release date to Diablo III 03/01/2011 too, I think were heading for a real official date soon ^ ^
