Namco Bandai has dished up some details and screens showing off Algol, a new character to the Soulcalibur series who's set to appear in the franchise's fourth instalment.

Hideo Yoshie, a character designer for the game, describes Algol as "the strongest character ever in SC series". He's the king of a superduper ancient civilisation that isn't recorded in history.

We're told "His right hand glows red and his left hand glows blue because he holds the Soul Edge in his right and the Soul Calibur in his left." Yoshie also notes that they went with a bird motif for the guy. "I want people to have fun by his buzzard actions", says Yoshie.

That makes Algol sound kind of cute. Frankly, SPOnG finds him a little terrifying. That's without even mentioning the fact that, "he has 10 kinds of weapons built in his body".
