One piece of news has just spun out of the Nintendo Press conference that inspires nothing short of shock. The Grand Theft Auto franchise is coming to the DS with a brand new "custom" instalment.

The game will be called Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and will come to the DS this Winter. The game will be set in the modern Liberty City.

The game will use a new engine and new characters.

Beyond that, not a vast amount was said about the game, except that it will feature "the same, free-ranging game play that Grand Theft Auto fans have come to expect".
