Tomb Raider: Underworld - Swimming Costume Fetish Gear?
First trailer!
Posted 21 Jul 2008

Eidos has served up its first trailer for Tomb Raider: Underworld, drowning the SPOnG Underwater Castle video room in a torrent of drool in the process.
The trailer doesn't give away much - the word 'teaser' is entirely appropriate here - but damn it looks pretty.
SPOnG doesn't know what the hell Lara's wearing at the end of the clip - it looks something like a cross between tactical gear, a swimming costume top and fetish wear - but we know we like it. We also know we should stop writing this right here before we write something entirely inappropriate...
You can find more on the game over at SPOnG's dedicated game page. Enjoy!

Damn pretty?
Yes
It also looks pretty damn pre-rendered.
Anyone else agree?

Scenery looks like it's in-game, but the textures and effects have definitely been beefed up.
Nice middle finger to Core as well, blowing up the mansion. Not big, not clever.

Also; not Core's mansion. That version of the mansion (based on the one in the movies) first appeared in-game in Tomb Raider: Legend, the first game by Crystal Dynamics.
I seriously doubt that the traditional mansion training level is going away. I think the events of that teaser will occur about two thirds of the way through the story of Underworld, just before Lara heads off to finish the story.
By the next game, it'll be rebuilt or re-furnished or she'll have bought another ancient pile to do up.
However, this is beyond the point. This teaser tells us nothing about the game, shows no in-game footage and has precious little Lara in it.
Pretty but not ideal for this point in the marketing campaign - we've already seen in-game footage, please put some in the trailer.

and in fact while I think about it Lara being the tomb raider preserver of history and such, how can she justify destroying her home which must have history and such, unless CD are setting up tomb raider 2096 now in where Lara`s great granddaughter searches for the ruins of Croft manor?
