One of the great things about video games is how we can learn from them. They've been known to help kids in fields such as literacy and numeracy. It's great. You might not have known, however, that games are also the teaching aid of the devil!

It's true. Well, according to Casey Bombacie, a youth pastor at City Church in San Diego. It's the online games we have to watch out for. “You can have 12 year olds and 30 year olds playing violent games together”, he said. “This is another way that the devil ‘mentors’ the next generation—constantly using unrighteous people, games and online services to ‘mentor’ young people into continued apathy and sin.”

SPOnG was going to spend a paragraph or two ripping this guy to shreds but, frankly, we can't even be bothered. We'll probably just go smoke some crack in a brothel with our neighbour's ass. Which we covet. Loads.

If that little gem has put you in the mood for some more ill-informed bluster from authority figures, you might want to check out this clip from Q&A, Australia's equivalent to Question Time. It shows Australian politicians talking drivel about the lack of an R18+ game rating in Australia. Tim SPOnG (who hearts Australia but is on a break from it) pointed out that if you asked most UK politicians about video games ratings, they would also probably talk uniformed drivel as well. Never call us unfair or we'll go all mentorlist on your ass.
