With no surprise at all to anybody, Nintendo's Wii dominated Japanese console sales (according to Media Create) for the week 28th July to August 3rd. Okay, if we are to believe the figures, only 85 new Wiis were bought in Nippon (in comparison to last week, of course). This compares with 418 additional Xbox 360s and 1,184 fewer PS3s sold in comparison to the previous week.
Yes, with the
Metal Gear Solid IV bounce echoing in the distance now, sales of the PS3 in Japan were down to 9,508 for the last audited week. Microsoft's pre-
Tales of Vesperia sales rose to 5,359.
In terms of handhelds, the PSP saw sale fall to 61,181 from the previous week's 67,452 but it still outsold Nintendo's DS (57,398) by 3,783 units.
